Our mail2web Mobile Email service is based on Microsoft Exchange 2007, and as a result includes full support for Exchange ActiveSync. ActiveSync is the protocol which allows you to synchronize information between mobile devices, such as a Windows Mobile 6.0 device or an Apple iPhone, and your mail2web Mobile Email account. This ensures that you don’t ever have to enter any information twice. If you enter it on your mobile device, it is synchronized to the mail2web Mobile Email Server. And if you enter information in using Outlook Web Access (OWA) or through Outlook 2007 or Entourage 2008 (for Mobile Email Pro users), it will be automatically synchronized to any mobile device you have configured for your account.
With ActiveSync you can synchronize a number of different items. Email Synchronization is one of the most popular features, but you can also Sync Contacts, Tasks and Calendar items including Appointments, Events and Meeting Requests.
Synchronization using ActiveSync can happen in a number of different ways. It can be completed while your device is cradled or cabled to your computer, or wirelessly over the air. Any device that is capable of running ActiveSync can synchronize over the air using wireless, GPRS or other wireless technologies.
