Nokia subsidiary Vertu recently announced a new addition to their ultra-luxury line of GSM mobile phones called the Ascent collection. These devices are made from hand-sewn leather, stainless steel, ceramic and sapphire materials including jewelled bearings, thus providing a welcome relief from the usual poly-carbonate and ABS plastic blends used in most phones. The price of $3,850 (which seems to include the Vertu Concierge service) is lower than the Signature line at about $26,000.

I don’t understand why someone would want/need such a phone. I’d be afraid to even touch the thing.
I think these phones are misnamed. They don’t actually add luxury to your life. They’re just shiny.
