A new model play-only MiniDisc player, the JVC “XM-C31″ claims to have a battery life of 318 hours in LP4 mode.
If this battery life number is true, then it seems that JVC has managed to aproximately double ‘normal’ battery life via their new power conservation technology…whatever that is. However, I’m not sure that I would want to listen to 318 hours of 66kb/s music, though..

I always wonder if some companies practice a little…ahem…creative accounting when calculating battery life.
