Popgadget.net is reporting the arrival of sidewalk charging stations in NYC. Good for re-charging the batteries on most mobile devices eg cell phones and PDAs.
The cost is 50 cents per minute.

Yes these are the best thing since candy, not only can you charge up yer phone but if you own it you can reap the rewards from advertising. I have models with up to a 32 inch computorized LCD screen avail. for any location worldwide .
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been walking down a street and wished I had some way to charge my phone right then and there.
