HTC Vivida Smartphone

by GadgetManiac on August 28, 2004

The “Vivida” is a new Smartphone from High Tech Computer Corp (HTC) in Taiwan.

It’s a soon-to-be-available CDMA Smartphone with a sliding face plate for the keypad. It comes with Bluetooth and a built in camera. Another Smartphone offering with CDMA is the Samsung i600, released earlier this year.

I didn’t realize that the word “smartphone” was used back in ’04. I thought it originated with the iPhone.

I guess back then simply having a camera made a phone a smartphone. Still, the HTC Vivida was a great phone for its time.
