PhotoStamps .com lets you create customized postage stamps from your own photos.
Completely legal for mailing stuff. For some reason, they insist on approving the photos.

I think most people I know would be disturbed to look at their mail and see my face on a stamp.
I think I can guess why they would want to approve the photos.
The post office should build a whole ad campaign around this program. Maybe this could save the post office.
