SlingBox Personal Broadcaster

by GadgetManiac on August 21, 2004

This seems like a good idea. The SlingBox will send TV to any Wi-Fi enabled device. It takes video signals from cable, satellite and DVR/PVR and compresses and converts them into Wi-Fi format for transmission to your cellphone, PDA or personal computer.

Sling Media hopes to have it available by year-end. $200.

This sounds liek a lot of fun. I wish they’d had this when I was a kid–sounds like a great outlet for creativity.

This posting about the SlingBox Personal Broadcaster makes you realize how long people have wanted mobile video. It’s something many of us definitely take for granted today.
