Speech Recognition Cellphone

VoiceSignal just announced some speech recognition apps for the soon-to-be-available Samsung MM-A700 cell phone. A700

Users will be able to say thing like: “Call John Smith at Home”, “Send Text to Mary Jones”, “Go to Downloads” or “Call 781-970-5200″. …Great for hands-free operation.

I’ve yet to be impressed by any speech recognition technology I’ve tried. I’d definitely love a cell phone that could do this accurately, though.

It’s been a long road to today’s voice activation technology. Maybe you could consider The Clapper to be its ancestor.
