Spoofing for Profit

Star38.com will offer the first commercial Caller I.D. spoofing system, starting next week.

Users of the service will be able to make it appear that they are calling from any number they choose, such as 987.654.3210.

The charge will be a 25 cent connection fee, plus 7-14 cents per minute.

Doesn’t this bring up some major legal issues, especially with the Do Not Call list?
