Crime for Dummies

by GadgetManiac on September 26, 2004

The Japan Times is reporting the discovery of a Yakuza manual with tips on how to carry out various crimes. The 206-page book, titled “Special Top Secret Information,” covers more than 100 items on successfully committing crimes.

Topics include:
The best time for purse-snatching: economic recessions.
How to borrow money from loan sharks without having to pay interest.
How to break into cars without special tools.

This stuff seems pretty mild & I always thought the Yakuza were heavy-hitters. Maybe Volume 2 will cover more advanced topics like: cargo theft, fraud, kidnapping and protection payments.

These may not be advanced topics, but you have to start somewhere.

it’s strange to think recessions are the best times for stealing purses. for one thing, i’d think competition would be fiercer.
