New Electromagnetic Suspension by Bose

by GadgetManiac on September 1, 2004

Bose wants to replace your car’s springs and shock absorbers with electromagnetic motors … and has already done so in some test vehicles.Top image - regular factory suspension. Bottom image - Bose suspension.

The results look promising. One of the main benefits of an electromagnetic suspension seems to be a much faster response time, as compared to a mechanical suspension.

See the Bose® Suspension System website for more details and additonal images.

I’d love to have some electromagnets in my car. I think it might improve its performance by quite a bit.

I think electromagnetic technology has long been an overlooked option for many vehicles–especially public transportation systems.
