Sharp just announced the LZ0P3738 a miniature 2 megapixel camera with 2x optical zoom intended for cell phone use.
The 3738 builds on the success of the 3731, which was used in the Sharp V602SH, the first camera phone with optical zoom.
What’s new in the 3738 is a faster auto focusing mechanism, and implementation of an “inner zoom system”, where the lens does not move in and out as in most zoom systems.
