Samsung 102 Inch Plasma TV

Samsung SDI announced today that it has developed the world’s largest plasma tv/monitor at 102 inches. See this article in the Korea Times.

Some unofficial details include:

Resolution- 1920×1080
Contrast ratio- 2000:1
Brightness- 1,000 candela/meter2
Price- big

Gadgetmaniac factoid:

Not bad for a company that started out in 1938 as “Samsung General Stores“, branching out into sugar and wool production in the 1950′s.

I had no idea Samsung started out as general stores. There’s an interesting company history.
