Blank Optical Media

by GadgetManiac on April 4, 2005

Taiyo Yuden makes the best blank media … at least according to an article in Wired Magazine. DVD-R 8X TAIYO YUDEN SILVER The article states that most blank media is manufactured by a handful of companies: Moser Baer, Ricoh, Taiyo Yuden, CMC Magnetics, Prodisc and Optodisc. These are then packed and resold by companies such as Fujifilm, TDK Electronics, Ritek, Verbatim, Imation and HP. According to people who contribute to forums such as CD Freaks and CDRlabs, ie those who should be in the know, the most reliable recordable media is from Taiyo Yuden. Blank Discs Not Created Equal. CD Freaks. Taiyo Yuden.

Anythink you can record content on — like a blank DVD — would be an example of blank media.
