Some guy in Japan has built a working 11 foot tall walking machine that bears a close resemblance to the main ‘Mech character in the game MechWarrior. 
LandWalker, as his walking machine is called, is fairly functional. Its able to move by shuffling its feet, as well as change direction, and there’s a video to prove it.
