The journal Nature is reporting that the wearing of red clothing enhances one’s chances of winning a sporting event. The article states that, in Olympic wrestling events, those donning red won 55% of the time. The effect also seems to be true for soccer and other sports. The authors speculate that red may well intimidate an opponent, or perhaps modify testosterone levels. Red is a recipe for sporting success

It’s strange to think that your hormones could be affected by the color of your clothing–and kind of cool, too.
i don’t see how clothing color can affect testosterone, unless it has something to do with the quality or intensity of light that the color red allows to pass through.
Color can affect the brain in all sorts of ways, and the brain of course controls hormone levels.
One sport where wearing red probably doesn’t enhance your chance of winning, however, would be bullfighting.
