Pocket Digital Cameras

June 2nd, 2005

By GadgetManiac

Today’s Wall St Journal has a Walt Mossberg review of five small digital cameras. He compares the Canon Powershot SD500, Fujifilm FinePix Z1, Kodak EasyShare V550, Konica Minolta Dimage X60 and the Nikon Coolpix S1. The criteria for conjoining these cameras in a review was price ($349-$499), weight (6 oz or less) and thickness (1 inch or less). Kodak EasyShare V550 In Mr Mossberg’s opinion, the best cameras of this bunch are the Kodak EasyShare V550 and the Canon PowerShot SD500. He likes those two because they have optical viewfinders (the other do not), but prefers the V550 because its cheaper, lighter and thinner than the SD500.
