The official winner of the DARPA Grand Challenge 2005 is Stanford Racing Team’s ‘Stanley’. The driverless Stanley, which is a modified Volkswagen Touareg, completed the 131.6-mile course in the Mojave Desert at an average speed of 19.1 mph, which was the best of all 23 final contestants.
