Lenovo has a new digital music player, the Easy Cube M500.
The M500 is quite mobiBlu-esque, right down to rounded corners of it’s similarly-cubic competition, the DAH-1500i. Lenovo however has replaced the display screen with a speaker, ramped up the dimensions to 70 mm (2.75 in) cubed, thrown in 4 AA batteries and an SD/MMC expansion slot. Supports constant/variable bit rates of 32Kbs to 320 Kbps, MP3 & WMA formats. Inexpensive at 499 Yuan / $62.
Market segment seems to be the cost-avoiding, headphone-averse, immobile tier.

The “cost-avoiding, headphone-averse, immobile” demographic doesn’t sound like that large a slice of the pie.
I’m not immobile, but I’m not crazy about headphones and I don’t like high prices, so I sort of fit that group.
