Samsung’s quest for world firsts continues with the SCH-B600, which is the world’s first 10 megapixel cameraphone.
The camera offers a 3x optical zoom, flash, auto-focus and a shutter that operates at 1/2000 of a second. The 2.2in QVGA LCD screen provides 24 bit color. Entertainment is via satellite DMB reception and an MP3 player. Connectivity is Bluetooth and EV-DO. Availability is expected in 2Q06.
As for the burning question of whether it’s better to sell a million gizmos at a dollar each, or just one unit for a million dollars, Samsung Electronics CEO Lee Ki-tae provided some guidance while he was at CeBIT 2006 via the following rhetorical question: “What would be the point of increasing our market share if we sell products costing US$30 or $40 a unit?” … consequently, we expect the price of the B600 to be high.

I think Lee Ki-tae showed some refreshing honesty there in discussing the rationale behind high prices.
As a lowly consumer, I’d much prefer they sell a million products at one dollar each!
