We were impressed by the Chi Mei Optoelectronics 3840×2160 super high resolution TV back in Jan ’06, but this new model from Sharp has it beat. This LCD panel weighs in at a res of 4096×2160 for a total of 8.84M on-screen pixels – a 1st for LCDs.
Better than nice, but good luck in finding any playable content that takes advantage of the great resolution.

This is always the problem with new media technologies. What good is buying them if you have to wait a year or more for the content you want?
That’s why it’s often better to wait a while to buy a new kind of product. There will be more content available, and even better the price usually goes down.
