Archos, that maker of portable media players, has just announced their latest model the Archos 704-WiFi. The 704 plays most media such as music, photos and video, has WiFi (802.11g), a very nice 7 inch 800×480 screen and a 80GB disk. Specs are at this link.
A “media player” it may well be, but the attribute “portable” is open to question…the 704 is heavy at 1.375 lbs or nearly 624 grams.
PC Magazine had a look at it, liked it and gave it and 8 out of 10, a good score.

I think I’d have to work out a little more before something like this would be portable for me.
To me, something is only portable if I can barely feel it inside my briefcase.
