Watch-makers Bell & Ross seem to have some nice-looking new watches, including this one, which is model BR01-92. Its got a carbon-finish steel case with a cool black and orange dial.
The specs for the watch, available at the above link, describe the BR01-92 as being a “watch with genuine military specifications”. That’s nice to know, but B&R does not state which mil specs are satisfied. One of the more common military specifications for a general purpose wrist watch is MIL-W-46374F, and if we’re reading the spec right, the BR01 seems to fall a bit short…e.g. requirement 3.2.1.1 says that the watch have self-luminous features via the use of tritium on the hands and dial to a max dosage of 25 millicuries. The BR01 does not seem to be radioactive & at 1.81 inches it’s somewhat larger than the max 1.025 inches allowed in the spec. Oh well, perhaps they conform to some other mil specs.
Sweet looking watch nonetheless.
