Dawn Simulators

by GadgetManiac on March 3, 2007

biobrite-sunrise-clock.jpgThey’re called sunrise or dawn simulator clocks, and they’re supposed to wake you up gently/slowly with soft light, pleasant aromas and chirping birds, instead of (one supposes) harshly/quickly. The most benefit from these devices is alleged to go to those with SAD.

The Wall Street Journal tested 5 models, and they weren’t thrilled with most of them. The best, or least-annoying model, was the one from BioBrite – it gave a “nice glowing pseudo-dawn“. $125.

I like the idea, too, except for the birds. I get more than my share of chirping birds every morning.
