When Nokia introduced their improved Internet tablet the N800 a few weeks ago, the world asked why? The N800 and it’s predecessor the N770 seemed to be a solution in search of a problem. It works ok, surfs the internet, has a nice camera, Wi-Fi, is Sykpe-friendly works with Google Talk and has great screen. But at 206 grams and 144 x 75 x 13 mm it’s not exactly small & light.

But we digress..Pocket-lint had a look at the N800 and decided that they liked the thing, giving it 8/10. They conclude by asking the question Why one would need one -  thus giving the review an UMPC tilt.

I’ve often felt about various gadgets that they’re solutions in search of problems–even many which are quite entertaining and well-made.
