I think it's very fair, even kind, to offer retroactive deals like this to affiliates.

That is a good question. Let me start by explaining the two programs and how they differ. Our reseller program, for myhosting.com, is in simple terms a bulk discount program. It is setup so that we bill a single account for all of the domains and offer a discount based on the number of domains. Essentially one person is the account administrator or web master for these accounts. This is an ongoing means to make money based on reselling our services at a profit.

The Affiliate program is a bounty program. There is no requirement that affiliates be customers although some of our most successful are. Our Affiliate program is still relatively new, we launched it last fall. In an effort to improve the program we made changes to the payouts. To be fair to our loyal affiliates we backdated these changes to the start of the program. That way any one who was an Affiliate would get full credit for all of the qualified sales they made through the program.

I hope this clarifies the two programs.

Thanks,

Stephen

I've been a reseller for several years. Will that also be retroactive?
