The Zune MP3 player has been available for just over 5 months, and in case you’re wondering how it’s doing, you might be interested to hear that PC World gives the Zune a solid B-minus, with about a 10% market share in the hard-drive segment of the media player market.
PC World also offers free-of-charge a number of helpful hints designed to assist the Microsoft Marketing Dept to get Zune into the zone. They suggest dropping the ‘social’ aspect, making the Zune more WiFi-friendly and adding flash memory. A parallel commentary by MSFT also suggests that they’re also considering offering the Zune in more colors, a nano-esque version as well as a phone version of the Zune.

I don’t think any tech company would even consider dropping the social aspect of one of their products nowadays.
i think there was really nothing anyone could do to replace the ipod. it will go down in history as the foremost music player.
