The next-generation high-definition optical disk format wars used to be all about Blu-ray vs. HD DVD, and the benefits & features of each opposing camp. Commentators would point to the specifications for Blu-ray and compare and contrast them to those for HD DVD. Many felt that the two rival formats were reasonably closely matched…with HD DVD seeming to have an edge in maturity.
But after Warner Bros elected to support Blu-ray, talk of HD DVD ebbed and the issue of which Blu-ray Profile to use re-surfaced. Consensus is that BD Profile 2 (aka BD-Live) is the way to go, with the player of choice being Sony’s own PS3.
And then, at MacWorld 2008 Steve Jobs announced hi-def movie rentals from iTunes and Apple TV etc. Well…read the rest here…

Streaming movies will win out sometime soon. I don’t expect the Blu-Ray to even be around five years from now. Then again, I could be wrong.
yeah, the most convenient product always wins, and what coul be more convenient than streamed movies?
