The 2008 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show starts tommorow Mon Jan 7 and runs until the 10th. The awards have already been announced, with the list of honorees available here.
Products on display at CES 2008 include the following 52 inch multi-touch LCD 1920×1080 HDTV display from LG Philips LCD. The display from LPL can be digressively described as an extreme version of the multi-touch screen found on the Apple iPhone or the Microsoft Surface, or as a paean to the creativity of Bell Labs (they’re missed) & Jeff Han.
Liberation from the the yoke of the mouse & keyboard will manifest itself in graphics design studios, retail stores and war rooms everywhere. Sweet, but the 1 or two surviving followers of social theorist Marshall McLuhan are predicting a collateral rise in illiteracy and innumeracy, and a derivative hastening of the arrival of the global village…

I never even realized how much of a yoke the mouse and keyboard were until I got rid of them, either.
I thought I wouldn’t be able to function without a mouse; now, I don’t think I could function with one.
