The Magazineer provides some advice on how to read Wired Magazine. In a nutshell, they say to rip out the pages that are double-sided advertisements, thus making the act of reading easier.
The article tears into ‘rampant consumerism’, citing the Dec 2007 issue as being 2/3 ads, with only 1/3 actual content. Otherwise, they seemed to like the magazine.
AND, if you don’t wish to read either the ads or the content, Valleywag was kind enough to provide a funny/short/useful summary of the entire 15.12 issue, available at Wired in 1,200 words!
…as an aside, it’s interesting reading “The Secrets of Silicon Valley” and the machinations surrounding TheFunded.com the tensions between entrepreneurs & their venture capital sources, the kingmakers of Sand Hill Road and the fulminations at VentureBeat. Wonder what Dick Kramlich of NEA would have made of this.

So many magazines seem to be 2/3 ads now. Ripping out double-sided ads is a good idea for any mag.
sometimes the ads are the best parts of a magazine, though.
