Reigncom’s iriver unit introduced the SPINN user interface in a unnamed prototype media player at CES 2008. The SPINN UI combines analog and digital controls to supposedly improve the user experience and access to the device contents.
Reigncom suggests that the analog toggle wheel spin system used in the SPINN approach provides a warmer, kinder, gentler perception in customers. Mildly & somewhat unfortunately reminiscent of Sony’s over-intellectualized & failed Qualia philosophy.

yeah, i’m not so sure i care about warmth, kindness or gentleness in a media player.
Calling a toggle wheel “warm” and “gentle” is a creative PR strategy, that’s for sure.
