Optimus Tactus concept keyboard by Art Lebedev Studios
Art Lebedev Studios has been a leading contender in the vaporware arena for some time. Their nicely-designed but yet-to-be-delivered Optimus 103 Keyboard placed 4th in Wired’s recent Vaporware 2007 contest. The 103, however, has been renamed to Optimus Maximus and assigned a price of 12,999 rubles and a release date of Feb 20, 2008, and so is in danger of losing its coveted vaporware status.

But just in the nick of time comes a new concept keyboard and contender, the Optimus Tactus. The Tactus has no physical keys whatsoever and so the entire surface can serve any function. Very nice, but given Art’s track record, his new intactile Tactus is certain to be a contender in Vaporware 2008, Vaporware 2009 and beyond.
