Historic Namdaemun – South Gate in Seoul Korea, Lost to Fire

Seoul’s historic Sungnyemun, also known as Namdaemun or South Gate, was destroyed by fire Sunday February 10 2008.

The structure was originally built in 1398 and designated National Treasure no. 1 in 1962.
