OpenPeak has apparently moved on from designing TV remotes to developing land line telephones instead. The company is working on OpenFrame which will bring smartphone capabilities to your home phone (assuming you still have one).
They plan to take your POTS telephone, stretch it to 8 inches, throw in a 800×480 WVGA touch screen, VoIP, Wi-Fi, smartphone functionality, web access, multimedia playback and regular telephony. …curiously no camera for video calling. No information on availability or price.
…Apple ex-CEO John Sculley is involved, so the thing is certain to succeed. (

I might be slow, but was that remark about Sculley sarcastic?
At this rate, OpenPeak will soon have the landline market all to itself.
