Sprint just launched the Instinct mobile phone, aka model SPH-M800. Intended as a competitor to the iPhone, the Instinct has a 3.1-inch 240×432 haptic touch screen, GPS, TV and a video camera. Other features include a full Internet browser, Bluetooth 2.0, 2 megapixel camera and up to 8GB of memory via MicroSD card. And despite the fact that it has 2 1000mAh batteries, it weighs 4.4 oz, which makes it lighter than the iPhone.
Opinions are divided as to the Instinct’s degree of iPhone-iness … GigaOM says that while the thing is “less than instinctive”, it stands a chance if priced right. And Wired sez it should sell like hotcakes.

I don’t really see it as following the iPhone too much. That is, I think it established an identity of its own.
