The Higgs Boson as Explained by David Miller

The story goes that one William Waldegrave offered bottles of champagne as prizes for the best answers to the question: “What is the Higgs boson, and why do we want to find it?” David Miller received one of the prizes with his now classic analogy to the celebrity whose trip across a room is slowed by virtue of acquiring clumps of admirers.
