Techno-guru Walt Mossberg reviews the soon-to-be available Samsung Instinct mobile phone and deems it to be merely “ok”. Walt says the Instinct lacks the iPhone’s greatest strength namely its software.
He concludes by stating that “Samsung’s Instinct, a clone of Apple’s iPhone, doesn’t measure up”, and for good measure, adds that it’s “no iPhone”.

Apple today announced their much-anticipated next-gen iPhone. The iPhone 3G as it’s called, is both faster and cheaper than the original model that it replaces.
Walt Mossberg lists the good points of the iPhone 3G as being speed (about 2x faster) price (about half) and the 3rd party apps. On the down side he knocks the fact that the new iPhone is still tied to 1 carrier, lacks features such as cut-and-paste & MMS and sports the same old 2 megapixel camera.
As an aside, Steve Jobs looked somewhat gaunt during his WWDC 2008 Keynote Address. This raises concerns about his health and poses the question is it time to short AAPL?
