The Competition Gets Hotter: Smartphones are shaking the mobile phone market

We have news from Motorola and HTC.

Let’s begin with Motorola. Software applications are the most distinctive part of the new generation cell phones. They try to meet customer’s needs as they are creating dynamic mobile experience. Last week Motorola announced a new App Accelerator Program and MOTODEV Studio for Android OS. MOTODEV is going to be the provider of better tools for application creation. The new App Accelerator Program will help to distribute those applications faster in the market. Motorola’s cooperation with Google will not stop here. Although they still manufacture Windows Mobile based phones, the company has said Google’s Android OS will be the main platform for its new models. Motorola plans to release more than 20 new models in a year.

HTC and T-Mobile are releasing a newer version of HTC Dream (the famous T-Mobile G1). The myTouch 3G will be on the shelves next Wednesday. myTouch 3G is lighter, thinner and faster. It’s powered with Android OS like its older brothers HTC Dream and HTC Magic. This Google-HTC unity has many aspects, like this new feature: You can now search Google with voice commands. The Android Market is growing day by day and finding an application is not an issue, thanks to its well organized system. There have been added more than 6,000 applications to the Android Market since G1 was released. Exchange ActiveSync is also expected to be supported, as it is with many other Android powered HTC phones since the beginning of 2009.
