MMS functionality is something iPhone users have been clamoring to have for ages. AT&T’s iPhone users finally will be able to send MMS on September 25th from their iPhone 3G and 3Gs.
Introducing MMS support was expected with the iPhone OS 3.0.1 update, but its date was unclear. AT&T admits that they’re late, stating “It was important to give our customers a positive experience from day one” so they needed the extra time “to make sure our network is ready to handle what we expect will be a record volume of MMS traffic.”
Like text messaging, MMS allows users to send media-rich messages, with pictures, video and audio, directly to other wireless phones. Previously, Apple encouraged iPhone users to e-mail those files as attachments.

I can’t imagine my iPhone without MMS today. It really improves the messages you send.
i agree. it’s much more fun to open a media-rich message than to open a plain message and be directed to an attachment.
