The elusive magnetic monopole may well have been found by J.Morris, A.Tennant and others at the Helmholtz Centre & elsewhere. The graphic shows how magnetic monopoles can exist at the end of tubes – called Dirac strings – that carry magnetic field.

MMs carry magnetic charge and were theorized to exist by the great Paul Dirac in 1931.
