Comments on: Palm Pre WebOS 1.2 and ActiveSync Issues

There was an issue with the 1.2 webOS software version that required an update to 1.2.1 in order to function with exchange. The most recent version of the software does work currently.

If you’re able to try again after updating let us know how it goes!

My colleague bought a Palm Pre for work purposes as she really, really doesn’t want an iPhone. I am more tech-savvy than her so tried to get it set up with our Microsoft Exchange Server via EAS. No joy. Numerous security certificates, plenty conversation and a call to a Palm Tech Support in Buenos Aires later and….we have to return it to O2 and get an iPhone instead.

Really upsetting – it’s such a great design but just won’t sync with our Exchange server, and in that is completely and utterly useless as a phone for work.

Unfortunately, Bell Canada hasn’t released the webOS 1.2.1 update to Canadian customers yet. Hopefully they’ll push it out soon!

If you’re a Bell Canada customer who needs this update, get on the phone and let them know!

The new update is out (1.2.1) and the problem seems to be completely resolved.

Just wanted to update this for anyone still following it. Palm released webOS update 1.2.1 this morning and it completely fixes this issue. Immediately after installing I was back syncing with my Mail2Web account. Good stuff!

My understanding Palm has released 1.2.1 to fix the exchange issue and it also address the the itunes sync with version 9.01 and enables the LED notifications, Has anyone tested it yet with Mail2web?

Update: Palm webOS 1.2.1 was released this morning and has resolved the EAS issue with my mail2web.com account! This update also fixes iTunes sync with iTunes 9.0.1 – may the cat & mouse game continue… Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I really hope Palm gets a jump on this. I’ve been without email/contacts/calendar all week and it’s killing me.

I appreciate you guys working with Palm on this. I really have had no issues with your service and would like to continue using it. I’d get rid of the phone over my M2W account if I had to choose.

Just another update for anyone following this thread. We have been in contact with Palm’s Support Team and are providing them with a test account that they can use to troubleshoot with.
