Testing out polls this week, I posted a quick 3-choice poll on the best smartphone. Unbeknownst to me, our readers are far more passionate about their smartphones than I could have imagined and our comment board lit up like a Christmas tree of people wanting to see more options.
This then turned into a 5-choice poll which included: Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Palm and Windows Phone
After about a week of polling, our stats are back and the two smartphone polls returned different results — so I’m posting both.
Of the 3-option poll, the results are as follows:

iPhone (surprise, surprise) took the cake with just over 50 per cent of votes
Blackberry came in second with just under 30 per cent
and the Android ate the cake and its feelings as it came in last with under 20 per cent of votes
The 5-option Poll switched things up a little bit, the results are as follows:
iPhone with 43 per cent
Blackberry with 29 per cent
Android and Palm tied at 14 per cent
and the Windows Phone got no love.
Do you agree with these results? what did you expect?
Look for Monday’s Poll on the top operating system.

I think you better re-check those results. iPhone is in the 1st place but not with 50% but 33% of the votes and WinMo is at 2nd place with 25% of the votes! If quarter of the voters’ vote is no love, can I have that love too please
PS. Is it not the norm to close the voting *after* announcing the results?

Hey Riz
Thanks for the input.
At the time of writing that post, the results were as shown. Luckily, the poll app updates the results with each new vote so those numbers are always changing.
As these polls have been promoted through various online platforms, I like to keep them open – who knows what the numbers will show in a month or two from now? I know I’m curious, aren’t you?

It’s an idea to keep it open but not correct to publish “poll results” as that term is missleading to what you are doing.
Just my 2 cents.

Palm not Symbian? LOL! Seriously, on market share alone…… That’s being Pre-vious to say the least. The Pre may get up there but, the E71 is already. Not to mention N series.
Just my 2p
