New Windows Phones are lined up for release with the launch of the new Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. The major players being the AT&T HTC Pure, Verizon HTC Imagio and the Sprint Samsung Intrepid Windows Phones as presently advertised on the official Microsoft Windows Phone site.
With these new devices comes a branding face-lift for Microsoft’s mobile regime, beginning with a simplification of the name. Previously, ‘Windows Mobile (insert version here) Smartphones’ and now simply ‘Windows Phones’.

This all part of a sweeping advertising campaign aimed, by and large, to make Windows desktop users aware that there is a Windows smartphone device they could also be using. And with many avid Windows users at their disposal this is undoubtedly a step in the right direction.
Over and above the grand scale of the advertising campaign is the expectation that by the end of the year over 30 devices will carry the Windows Phone title. This coupled with the included re-designed Internet Explorer Mobile application, which allows browsing web pages similar to desktop computers. Adobe Flash support should prove a big advantage in the mobile market.
As always, the new software is expected to fully support Exchange ActiveSync and Autodiscover and should be a delight to setup with your Microsoft Exchange services.
Be sure to keep us posted on your experiences with these new devices!

I always liked Windows 6.5, but what a difference between 6.5 and 7! 7 really is like an entirely new product.
Yes–in a sense Windows 7 is misnamed because it wasn’t an update to 6.5 at all, as the name implies, but rather an entirely new creation.
