At the beginning of this week, we heard some rumors about a Google branded smart phone. TechCrunch reported that the company was working on an Android powered (what else could it be?!) device. Then, rumors came to light and facts arose:
PC World’s Ian Pauls states that HTC and Google will manufacture a “gPhone” with advertising starting in January 2010. Of course, its operating system will be Android.
Many people have higher expectations from gPhone. It should add new values to the mobile phone concept and position itself in a very different place amongst its competitors.

I’m sure the gPhone will be great, but I’m not sure I like the name… “gPhone” is too similar to “iPhone.” What about the Googler?
Of course, this article was written before anyone realized the heights to which Androids would soar. Who would’ve seen that coming?
