Hi Folks!
Couple days ago, I started using Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus Beta. Office Professional 2010 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access and Publisher.
My first impressions are very positive: If you have ever used Office 2007, it will be an easy transition to Office 2010. Some of the changes from the technical side are small; others are more significant. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote are different colors and therefore easier to distinguish. Also, my desktop is usually tres messy but I tidied it up just so you can get a good screen shot… The things I do for you
Outlook is an indispensable part of my life; I’m starring at that screen almost 10 hours a day. Thanks to mail2web’s mobile email services, I can continue to receive email during the other times of the day, so you may always reach me.
Unlike the other versions, Office 2010 applications start with “start-up” screens, which you may see below.

You may have noticed, there are “header tabs” and a “File” section. I found it strange at first, but, now that I’m acquainted, I’m thanking Uncle Bill (actually to developers of Office) for the tab sections. It’s a wonderful shortcut to find what I’m looking for. The Help section is also so well organized that it will turn the most green Outlook 2010 user into an Outlook Master!

Look for our continuation later this week when I’ll follow up with some Outlook 2010 trick’s and tips!

Hi, I am trying the BETa version of the office 2010 since yesterday but I habe a problem with M Outlook. It starts, asks for the password and them says it has found an error and has to close. It doe not give me time to go to the settings and try to find a problem.
Hi Jon,
Unfortunally I can’t help you, since I’m just a beta-tester… However you may look at http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/FX100485361033.aspx?pid=CL100605171033 and ask for help.
Sincerely,
Birge

Your article really hit right on the head. great work, I look forward to your next blog.
It looks really great and it’s really soothing to hear that it’s a simple transition from 2007. I’m still worried about making any switches to quickly since most businesses won’t upgrade right away, but it’s tempting!
Nice and short article about the beta version of Outlook. It is indeed very good, the ribbon is finally part of Outlook, which makes it very easy to orientate, mailtips is a very useful application, when I install my lookeen search tool, I am pretty sure that Outlook and I will spend some wonderful time togehter.
I love MSO2010…but wonder when/how this beta would be able to sync with Nexus One. My most urgent requirement!
