Google has created quite a buzz as it enters the smartphone OS+hardware creator territory (like RIM Blackberry and Apple iPhone) saying smartphones are so yesterday and the superphone is phone of tomorrow… and that savior of a superphone? the new Google Nexus One… or so they claim.
Google Nexus One is not unique, but a very serious competitor for Motorola’s Droid and Apple’s iPhone (you can check out its specs here). It’s light, thin and wide: 19×59.8×11.5mm (LxWxH) and only 130 gr with battery. In other words, thin as a pencil and heavy as 53 pennies. 480*800 high resolution Amoled display is 3.7.” Android 2.1 OS and a 5MP camera are the other cool features of the Google phone.
Nexus One does, however, has some outstanding features. Google claims the Nexus One is the fastest and most elegant smartphone on the market. It boasts up to 7 hours’ talk time, 250 hours’ standby, 5 hours of 3G Internet use, 7 hours of video playback and 20 hours of audio playback. Google Maps, the navigation program which comes built-in, has advanced voice command features and the 3D icon sets create a very realistic perception. The Live Wallpaper feature is pure eye candy, and fun to boot. You can send SMS messages purely through voice commands and it also has a very successful noise reduction service, which minimizes external noises that would otherwise sabotage your conversations.
The real fun part is in the apps: Facebook, Twitter and Gmail have special applications. Like Michael Arrington from Techcrunch says, “Google Navigation, Live Wallpaper and the Voice Keyboard… When combined with Google Voice there is no phone on the market today that can touch the Nexus One.”
An unlocked GSM version of the phone will cost $529 in the countries where Nexus One is available.

I was under the impression before that the Droid was from Google, but I guess I just mixed these two up. What a blond! I definitely can’t afford one of these, but they do look quite nice. I wonder how good they’ll turn out in the long run.
Droid is from google – its the Operating System for the phones made by other companies… like having a toshiba computer running a Microsoft Windows 7 OS.
The Nexus One is both the phone (body) and operstig system (brain) made by Google – llike RIM/Blackberry and Apple/iPhone
