blackberry_9000_boldSupporting a good cause always creates a nice feeling. However, the mobile industry hasn’t created up to this point too many charity and profit applications. Some of the most important such programs are listed below.

Songs of Love is an iPhone app. It is one of the few applications developed by an actual charity foundation. By using this feature, users will be able to donate money for those children who are suffering from serious diseases and find themselves in unfavourable conditions. The app was last updated in April 2010.

Shazam is an iPhone application which helps users donate money for causes like fighting against AIDS, malaria or tuberculosis in Africa.

Phospho is an iPhone program which acts like a flashlight. You can shake the device to turn the feature on and touch the screen to change the colour. All the revenues are donated to centres which help blind people and fight against the occurrence and cure of this phenomenon.

Support Haiti is an application which allows users to donate money to the people in Haiti who suffer from the terrible losses in the earthquake which has destroyed so many lives.

Thereafter, they can donate the gained points to different causes such as providing a meal to the unlucky ones, taking care of the injury of an animal or planting of trees.

VolunteerMatch is an iPhone app used by people who wish to find a suitable volunteer program. There are more than 60,000 centres which users can choose from. The VolunteerMatch feature is one of the most important applications of its kind.

I like the idea of the Support Haiti app. Hopefully, it will be around for a long time, even after the memory of the earthquake starts to fade.

The VolunteerMatch app reminds me of idealist.org. They might be wise to share resources.
