Let’s talk a little bit about the Apple Tablet. Yesterday morning, Apple announced that they postponed the launch date of mysterious Apple Tablet. After their explanation, many people starting to believe that the Apple Tablet is dead or probably never existed. But if it’s really on the pipeline; here is all the data we know about it:
- 10.6” LCD display or/and 9.7” OLED screen
- OLED models will cost over $2000 and LCD models $800-$1000
- not launch before early 2010
- variety of internet connections from Wi-Fi to 3G
- Webcam for video-conferencing
Unfortunately, we don’t have any options but to wait and see.
ViewSonic Corparation has a new media player on the shelves: MovieBook VPD500. It has a 800×480 high resolution 5” large-screen, 8 GB of built-in internal memory and full support for multimedia formats. Other specs are: 720p video output, Micro SD card slot, 2500 mAh battery which can play up to 4 hours of video or 5 hours of music, support for AVI, RMVB, FLV, MP3, WMA and WAV, and APE and FLAC extensions. Plus, it’s super light; only 196 grams. It costs £115 and available in 3 colors; black, white and pink.
The Thecus N0204 is the smallest NAS (Network Attached Server) ever. It’s the size of a USB hard drive. N0204 is small but comes with RAID 0, 1 and JBOD support. It consumes 25-30% of a regular two-bay NAS device, which means you save both your pocket book and environment at the same time.
It’s silent and works at cool operating temperatures. If you need to change one of the hard disks, it’s no problem due to hot plug and swap capabilities. The miniNAS is designed for hassle-free setup and has full multimedia support. It’s compatible with both Mac and PC networks and will work with Wi-Fi or Gigabit LAN via the ethernet connection on the back of the unit. Lastly, it uses 2.5” hard drives, but you must provide your own as they’re not included… Its retail price is $150.
Samsung is releasing its new Android based Smartphone Galaxy Spica for Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The Spica offers smooth access to Google’s mobile services such Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, and Google Talk and popular social networks like Facebook and Myspace. It has a 3.2” touchscreen display with 320×480 resolution, 3.2 MP camera, quad band GSM / EDGE / HSDPA, 800MHz processor with Google Android 1.5 Cupcake, built in GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and a 3.5mm headphone jack, there is also a 1500mAh battery. It is 13.2mm thick.
Eye-Fi Inc enables WiFi support for its Share, Share Video, Explore Video and Pro cards. Thus FTP upload will be possible directly from the SecureDigital memory cards. The newly-added function supports both the FTP and FTPS through the Eye-Fi Manager, which runs on both PC and Mac platforms. You can even share your photos straight to sites like Flickr. Saygus is a small Utah-based firm, that specialized in video-calling software. If you’ve never heard of it, I don’t blame you, however, its new Android based phone might just grab your attention.
The Saygus VPhone is coming to the market. Naturally, VPhone focuses on video calling with a rare front-mounted VGA camera, 5 megapixel autofocusing camera on the back, 624MHz PXA310 XScale core, 512MB of Flash on board with 256MB of RAM, a 3.5-inch capacitive WVGA touchscreen, QWERTY slider keyboard, WiFi, and EV-DO Rev. and supports Verizon’s 3G network. Saygus sees the phone as a way to show off their video-calling software, which can transmit 352×288 video at 24-30 frames per second over a 48-kilobit stream. Saygus is planning to run VPhone on Android 2.0 and will be launching next year. The price will also be later announced.
Sun drive is both USB flash drive and solar charger. It’s available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16 GB capacities. It works as an emergency charger for gadgets too!It can give you 100 minutes of extra talk time on your cellphone and an additional 35 hours of playtime to an MP3 player. It costs $23, which is little bit higher than usual USB sticks but the solar charge could save your life in emergencies.
I’d bet 50 bucks that the inventor of this WiFi Scale is a guy. Plus, he will be bankrupt, soon… I’m arguing that, no woman on this earth can say her weight honestly. (Including me…)
