McAfee has a good reputation with individual and business users. Its products are commonly loaded on pre-built computers and it’s long been one of the two most common anti-virus programs used in businesses. McAfee is a complex system with a lot of features, but most of them are controlled from a user interface that most computer users will have no trouble understanding.
The McAfee security software suite comes with a firewall, the abilities to detect and remove malware and adware and many other features. The licensing fees are modest and include support from the company. If you need assistance telling them what’s wrong with your PC, McAfee keeps detailed security logs of viruses that have been detected and many other aspects of your system. This can provide valuable troubleshooting information in the event that your computer gets a particularly nasty virus. McAfee, however, has a solid reputation for releasing new definitions regularly and their real-time protection is excellent.
McAfee security software is very easy to use, though the interface is quite complex in ways. This blend of usability with features that end users will have no trouble understanding makes this security software one of the better builds on the market. It’s a commercial product, not a freebie, so there is someone to call if there are problems with the system. McAfee is easy on system resources for the amount of work it does and, most often, users will find that they don’t have to pay attention to the software at all as it does its job in the background while you do yours.
