Since a couple of days I have the same problem. So my battery is running out in two/three hours. So it's not a sollution but until the problem is solved in de folder options at active sync on you phone take the -V- mark out of the calender. Now it's working properly and still synchronise your email.
Hope the problem solved soon. (I'm using HTC polaris with Windows Mobile 6.0)
